Job summary

New England Orthopedic Surgeons (NEOS) is hiring a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for our Springfield outpatient rehabilitation team. The PTA will support therapeutic exercise, postoperative rehab, and disability recovery while documenting progress under an on-site PT.

Ideal candidates are compassionate, team-oriented, and skilled with EMR systems; Massachusetts PTA licensure is required, CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
  • Current Massachusetts PTA license in good standing.
  • Experience in orthopedic/sports medicine outpatient PT setting preferred.
  • Proficient with EMR and patient documentation.
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for therapeutic exercise programs, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility training under a licensed PT.
  • Assist in delivery of postoperative rehabilitation, sports injury recovery, and chronic condition management.
  • Document daily treatment notes, update progress reports, and communicate patient status with the care team in compliance with HIPAA and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper use of therapeutic modalities as prescribed.
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs and activity modifications to support recovery.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and scheduling.

  • Assist in the delivery of post-operative rehabilitation, sports injury recovery, and chronic condition management
  • Document daily treatment notes, update progress reports, and communicate patient status with the care team in compliance with HIPAA and clinical guidelines
  • Ensure proper use of therapeutic modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs) as prescribed
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs (HEP) and activity modifications to support ongoing recovery
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and scheduling
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
  • Current Massachusetts PTA license in good standing (Required)
  • Experience in an orthopedic, sports medicine, or outpatient physical therapy setting preferred
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and patient documentation systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations
  • CPR/BLS certification (Preferred)

Schedule:

  • Full-time: Monday–Friday, Day Shifts (No evenings or weekends)
  • 40 hours/week

Compensation:

  • Hourly range: $28-$36 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
