Job summary

Total Care Therapy is actively seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Ohio. You will work with a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver patient-centered care across assisted living and independent living communities.

This therapist-owned company prioritizes clinicians, offers mentorship, and supports growth as we expand throughout Ohio while helping older adults regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must hold PTA license (State) and CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience in geriatrics or home health is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the licensed PT’s supervision.
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, increase strength, restore function, and maintain their independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and according to the established plan of care.
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and mobility interventions to help residents achieve their functional goals.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately complete documentation and treatment notes using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Educate residents and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, and safety strategies
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Maintain a full-caseload while providing compassionate, high-quality therapy services

Qualifications

• Current State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
• Previous experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required
