Job summary

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work under supervising physical therapists, helping patients regain mobility, build strength, and reduce pain. This on-site role supports a broad range of rehabilitation services across a 204-bed facility in Palm Beach County.

The PTA will lead therapeutic exercises, monitor progress, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in PTA from an accredited program is required.
• Current state PTA license (e.g., Florida) is required.
• BLS certification due within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead patients through therapeutic exercises, functional training, and modalities.
• Monitor patient responses and document results.
• Educate patients and families on assistive devices and home exercise routines.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, nurses, and aides to support recovery.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Care: Lead patients through therapeutic exercises, functional training, and physical modalities
• Monitor Progress: Track patient responses to treatment and document results accurately.
• Educate: Teach patients and family members how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise routines
• Collaborate: Work closely with physical therapists, nurses, and aides to support patient recovery

Job Requirements

• Education: Associate of Science (A.S.) or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensure: Current state physical therapy assistant license (such as a Florida license).
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand, bend, and lift patients or equipment up to 50 pounds
