A leading healthcare provider in Louisville is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care based on therapist directives. Responsibilities include recording treatment notes, maintaining the treatment area, and assisting staff with training. Ideal candidates will hold a valid license and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Therapy Assistant (Healthcare)
Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board requirements. Assist in maintaining the department and participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed. Help with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Follow the physician's treatment plan when treating patients. Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisors and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for staff. Record treatment changes according to policies and procedures. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services. Report any issues with department equipment for maintenance. Demonstrate the ability to relate positively and effectively with patients/residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
This position is not supervisory.
Requires standing and walking frequently, sitting occasionally, reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. Ability to exert force and perform physical tasks as described.
Typically low to moderate noise level. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
