Job summary

AccentCare is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our Temple-area team. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will deliver skilled PT services, educate patients and families, and help implement care plans while complying with agency policies.

You will travel to multiple locations as needed and ensure documentation is accurate and timely. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, maintain productivity standards, and participate in meetings and in-services

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• Valid license/registration/permit to practice in state of operation.
• Must possess and maintain CPR certification.
• Must be a licensed driver capable of traveling to all business locations.
• Ability to implement care plans and communicate findings to PT and physician.
• Ability to educate patients and families on basic home safety and medical equipment safety.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care and documents treatment per physician orders, agency policy and patient needs.
• Documents interventions, approaches, strategies, materials and treatment priorities.
• Delivers organized and efficient patient treatment including advising, educating and counseling the patient.
• Presents patient information to supervising therapist and keeps team informed of patient status.
• Provides skilled treatment according to patient needs within agency and payer parameters.
• Seeks assistance from team members in treatment planning and intervention.
• Accurately documents and submits daily notes and forms to prevent interruptions in care.
• Meets agency productivity standards and uses work hours efficiently.
• Attends and participates in agency meetings and committees as assigned.
• Negotiate patient participation in treatment, times and plans.

The Physical Therapy Assistant, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, is responsible for providing treatment to patients, functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team, provides patient and family education and counseling regarding concerns, planning, implementing and modifying treatment procedures, maintaining appropriate documentation according to policies and procedures and current standards of practice. The Physical Therapist Assistant manages a caseload in conjunction with supervising therapist and in accordance with agency productivity standards,

attends and participates in patient and other conferences and agency in-services as assigned.

• Attends and participates in agency meetings and committees as assigned.
• Appropriately negotiates the patient' s participation in treatment, treatment times and treatment plans.
