Job summary

AccentCare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant in Lower Bucks County, covering Bristol Township, full-time with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. You will work under a licensed Physical Therapist, participate in an interdisciplinary team, and educate patients and families on home safety and equipment as needed.

The role requires an Associate degree in Physical Therapy, a valid state license, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license to travel between locations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• Valid license to practice in the state of operation.
• Must possess and maintain CPR certification.
• Must be a licensed driver able to travel to all business locations.
• Ability to educate patients and families on basic home safety and medical equipment safety.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care and documents treatment per physician orders, agency policy and patient needs.
• Documents appropriate interventions, approaches, strategies, materials and treatment priorities.
• Provides organized and efficient patient treatment including advising, educating and counseling the patient.
• Presents pertinent patient information to supervising therapist and keeps team informed of patient status.
• Provides appropriate skilled treatment to patients according to patient needs and within agency and payer parameters.
• Seeks and accepts assistance from team members in planning and intervention.
• Accurately documents and submits daily notes and required forms in a timely manner.
• Meets agency productivity standards and participates in meetings as assigned.

The Physical Therapy Assistant, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, is responsible for providing treatment to patients, functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team, provides patient and family education and counseling regarding concerns, planning, implementing and modifying treatment procedures, maintaining appropriate documentation according to policies and procedures and current standards of practice. The Physical Therapist Assistant manages a caseload in conjunction with supervising therapist and in accordance with agency productivity standards,

attends and participates in patient and other conferences and agency in-services as assigned.

• Associates degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy
• Have a valid license, registration, or permit to practice in state of agency operation
• Must possess and maintain valid CPR certification while employed in a clinical role

• Be able to implement care plans and communicate any findings or changes in regards to patients back to the Physical Therapist and physician
• Ability to educate patients and their families in basic home safety and medical equipment safety

• Appropriately negotiates the patient' s participation in treatment, treatment times and treatment plans.
