Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license in the state of employment.
• Current CPR/AED/BLS/First Aid certification.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel to patient homes within the assigned service area.
• One (1) year of professional experience as a PTA in home health or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home patient visits based on the patient’s plan of care under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Instruct and assist patients with active and passive exercises, gait training, ADLs, transfers, and safety techniques.
• Observe, document, and report patient response to treatment to the supervising PT and healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation and recovery participation.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that promotes independence and improved quality of life.

As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), You Will:

• Provide in-home patient visits based on the patient’s plan of care under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT).
• Instruct and assist patients with active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, functional activities, activities of daily living (ADLs), transfers, safety techniques, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, document, and report the patient’s response to treatment and any changes in their condition to the supervising Physical Therapist and appropriate healthcare team members.
• Educate patients and their families on how they can actively participate in and support the patient’s rehabilitation and recovery.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that promotes independence and improved quality of life.
