Job summary

Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join Rehabilitation- Physical Therapy. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Execute components of patient care including exercises and modalities as directed by the PT.
• Teach patients and families exercises for home programs.

• Collaborate with physical therapists and healthcare team to meet patient needs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and schedule appointments per guidelines.

Hours: 8-hour shift ( Weekday and Weekend Shift Available)

Location: Providence Medical Center- Kansas City, KS

A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a crucial role in healthcare by supporting physical therapists in delivering patient-centered care. PTAs work in various settings, such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, or private practices. PTAs help improve patient mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent disabilities by implementing rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient’s needs.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

• Execute components of patient care, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities like ultrasound or electrical stimulation, as directed by the physical therapist.


• Teach patients and their families exercises to be continued at home, ensuring understanding and compliance to promote recovery.


• Observe and document patient responses and progress toward goals, adjusting treatments as necessary and reporting back to the physical therapist.


• Work closely with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that each patient’s specific needs are met efficiently and effectively.


• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, schedule appointments, and ensure compliance with all guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications
