Ryans Rehab Inc. is seeking a professional and caring Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. The PTA will directly assist Physical Therapists in recovery treatments, observe patients, and document progress for review by the Physical Therapist.

Qualifications

• Must hold Current Physical Therapy Assistant license and certification.
• Ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly.
• Excellent observational and assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides PT services under supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Identifies patient care issues to help improve therapist effectiveness.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Interviews patients and reviews therapy histories to update health status.
• Documents patient care in charts and department records.
• Guides patients through exercises and mobility activities.
• Assists patients using crutches, canes, prostheses as needed.
• Counsels patients on regimens and wellness information.

Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and caring Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team! In this role a Physical Therapy Assistant who directly assist Physical Therapists in recovery treatments. They observe patients before, during and after undergoing therapy sessions and take consistent notes of their progress and health status for the Physical Therapist to review.

When a Physical Therapist examines, diagnoses and builds a treatment plan for a patient, the Physical Therapy Assistant helps patients perform the exercises and mobility techniques as instructed by the Physical Therapist. They also complete clerical duties like scheduling appointments, answering phone calls and emails and sanitizing the therapy rooms after sessions.. Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Contributes to a physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining updating, and studying therapy histories.
• Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
• Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
• Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends and monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives.
• Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations and JACHO standards.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading periodicals, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Enhances physical therapy reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
