Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir, VA.

In this outpatient setting, you will work with licensed PTs to help active-duty service members, veterans, and families regain strength and mobility. This role emphasizes hands-on patient care, individualized treatment plans, and compassionate, team-based care with a focus on quality outcomes and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; PTA program accreditation.
• Active PTA license or APTA certification.
• BLS certification current.
• Lifeguard certification current.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in developing and carrying out individualized treatment plans.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities.
• Administer therapeutic modalities, including massage, traction, and ultrasound treatments.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and treatment records.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting recovery and independence.

Education

Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Active state Physical Therapy Assistant license or American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) certification

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Lifeguard Certification

What You'll Do

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you'll work alongside licensed Physical Therapists to help patients regain strength, improve mobility, and return to their highest level of function.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

• Minimum 1-2 years of full-time Physical Therapy Assistant experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Lifeguard Certification
