Job summary

Floresville Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in Houston. The PTA will work under a licensed PT to provide rehabilitative services to residents, ensuring accuracy in records and adherence to all regulatory standards.

This full-time role requires Texas PTA licensure and welcomes new graduates. Compensation starts at $38.00 per hour, with a benefits package including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and PTO.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents by providing rehabilitative services under the direction of a licensed PT.
• Maintain productivity/efficiency as set by Rehab Director or Administrator.
• Monitor therapy services and provide encouragement as needed.
• Maintain patient therapy records and progress notes.
• Record billing information for services rendered.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following policies.
• Help keep therapy equipment operating and maintained.
• Adhere to professional standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Seek opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

This position is for a skilled nursing facility and has both short-term and long-term patients. Floresville Nursing and Rehabilitation in Houston is under new ownership and has an in-house therapy team with smaller daily case loads, all new equipment, and an emphasis on optimizing time with patients.

Physical Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities

• Helps residents by providing rehabilitative services to persons with mental, physical, psychosocial, and/or developmental impairments under the direction/supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Maintain expected productivity/efficiency set by the Director of Rehab or Administrator.
• Monitors therapy services to make sure they are performed correctly and provides encouragement when necessary.
• Maintains patient physical therapy records by recording resident's progress and daily notes.
• Generates revenue by recording billing information of services rendered.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following facility policies and procedures.
• Helps keep therapy equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
• Serves and protects the physical therapy practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
• Enhances physical therapy practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
