Job summary

Phoenix Physical Therapy, Inc. is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to support licensed therapists with daily patient care. You will prepare patients and equipment, assist with selected procedures, and help maintain a safe, efficient clinic environment.

Applicants should have an Associate degree in physical therapy or PTA program, CPR certification, and strong interpersonal skills. Experience in rehabilitation is preferred and appreciated.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in physical therapy or PTA program graduate.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a PT facility, nursing home or rehab agency preferred.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• Confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule aligned with facility needs.
• Coordinate with care team and inform on patient progress and needs.
• Aid in patient care and safety.
• Prepare equipment for patient treatments as directed by the PT.
• Assist the PT in selected procedures while monitoring comfort and safety.
• Perform housekeeping to keep the facility clean and organized.
• Attend facility meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist Assistant’s p rimary responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment for treatment and assisting the Physical Therapist with selected procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the facility.
• Confer with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient, keeping them informed of additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress.
• Aid in the care and safety of patients.
• Prepare equipment for patient treatments as requested by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist in selected procedures, according to the PT’s directions, by checking patient and equipment during treatment for both comfort and safety.
• Perform housekeeping duties; maintain order and cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Attend facility meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Training:

• Associate degree in physical therapy or graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within a Physical Therapy facility, nursing home or rehabilitation agency preferred.
• Current CPR Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods.
