Job summary

USC Care Medical Group is seeking a Therapy Aide to assist in direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Department Director. You will help with scheduling, referrals, setting up treatment areas, and facilitating patient treatment across therapy modalities.

As part of the care team, you will maintain clean treatment zones, manage equipment and supplies, perform clerical duties, and document patient progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and communicate effectively with patients, therapists and other departments.
• Report patient issues or departmental concerns to the supervising therapist.
• Read and understand policy and procedure manuals.
• Demonstrate compliance with safety, hazardous waste, and infection control procedures.
• Proper body mechanics when assisting patients to prevent injury.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends.
• Adhere to departmental policies and procedures, including annual updates of emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist with patient treatment setup and modalities.
• Schedule management: assist with scheduling and referral updates, transcribe schedules and distribute to units.
• Set up and clean treatment areas; maintain equipment and supply stock.
• Write daily treatment notes and document required activities.
• Greet patients, assist with receptionist tasks, and guide patients to appropriate treatment areas.
