Job description

Job Summary:

Under immediate supervision, assists with patient care activities as assigned and according to established policies, procedures, and standards.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Care: Answer call lights. Apply or remove dressings, splints, or supports. Assist patients with personal hygiene needs. Transport patients to/from designated areas. Physically lift patients or use mechanical lifting aids. Prepare and position patients for procedures. Equipment and Instruments: Adhere to safety and infection control procedures. Assemble/disassemble equipment and instruments. Ensure equipment is available for procedures and examinations. Maintain a safe, clean work area. Order supplies. Perform routine testing on equipment. Report routine testing results and equipment problems to supervisor. Set up and organize exam rooms. Stock/restock treatment/procedure rooms.
  2. Information and Records: Answer phones and direct calls. Complete patient processing forms (CPRs). File information in patient charts. Maintain department logs and statistics. Post treatments given.
  3. Administrative and Other: Assume other activities and responsibilities as directed from time to time.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum one year experience in both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy settings.
  • Education: N/A
  • License, Certification, Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to support 200+ pounds as needed.
  • Able to bend and stoop for 20% of the workday.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PT AIDE CERTIFICATION and experience with inpatient and outpatient physical therapy.
