Job summary

Orthotexas-Physicians- is seeking a Physical Therapy Technician to assist the PT with non-clinical tasks and patient care. You’ll prepare treatment rooms, help patients with exercises, and ensure equipment is sanitized and organized.

Role includes front desk support, chart prep, and daily upkeep of supplies. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be willing to work at Grapevine and Keller locations if needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year commitment is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment room and assist PT with procedures.
• Assist patients with warm-up and basic exercises as directed.
• Sanitize equipment and maintain a clean, confidential workspace per HIPAA.
• Pull patient charts and assist with front desk tasks and scheduling.
• Assist in ordering and maintaining supplies; support hydrocollator and hot pack upkeep.

Description

A physical therapy technician is responsible for assisting the PT with non-clinical tasks and assisting in patient care. This may include the following: keeping treatment area organized and clean by sanitizing equipment such as tables and cardio, pull charts, assist patients with basic exercises, and help record progress at the therapist’s discretion.

PT Tech Job Duties:

• Prepare treatment room for patient prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Prepare patients for PT treatment by welcoming patient, assisting them onto warm up equipment, assisting them to their treatment table
• Aides in the application of heat packs, cold packs, and assisting with basic exercises
• Aides in the progression of therapeutic exercises with therapist’s discretion
• Pulls patient charts for the following treatment day
• Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment
• Helps educate patients in proper form and technique as educated by the PT
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential per HIPPA guidelines
• Maintains a clean working environment by sterilizing equipment
• Assists in checking patients in/out and scheduling patients
• Assists in front desk opening and closing procedures
• Assists in pulling charts for the PT for the next day
• Enhances PT department by accepting responsibility for new tasks as deemed appropriate by therapists
• Assists in maintenance and ordering of supplies
• Cleans hydrocollator on a monthly basis
• Cleans hot pack covers and sanitizes weights on a weekly basis

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Students taking a gap year before PT school.- 1 Year Commitment
• Must be willing to work the Grapevine and Keller location if needed.
