Job summary

Goldsboro Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Goldsboro, NC is hiring a PTA to provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a physical therapist and to help identify suitable rehab candidates. You will document daily participation and progress in progress notes, ensuring accuracy and timely co-signature by the PT.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy that is recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the PT.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
• Comply with all facility safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.

Education

BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy (APTA recognized)
