Job summary

Indiana University Health in Avon (West Hospital) seeks a full-time Day shift Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive patient care, restore function, and reduce pain following illness or injury. You will supervise PT aides, support staff, and students while contributing to department operations.

The ideal candidate has orthopedic experience, strong attention to detail, excellent bedside manners, and adaptability to a fast-paced clinical environment. Indiana licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required.
• Indiana licensure as a Physical Therapist is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced life support may be required per unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy to restore function and reduce pain after disease or injury.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants, support personnel and students.
• Participate in activities supporting patient care and department operations.

Shift

This position is Full-Time Day Weekday shift. No weekends or holidays.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provides physical therapy services to restore function, reduce pain and prevent disability following disease or injury, and assists patients to reach maximum performance levels. Provides all components of direct patient care including supervision of physical therapist assistants, support personnel and students. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.

• Requires graduation from an accredited academic program in physical therapy.
• If foreign trained, graduation from a physical therapy education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Requires current Physical Therapist license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
