Job description

Works directly with Othrppedic Surgeons in outpatient physical therapy facilities. Post-op protocol-driven patient-centered rehab.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The direction of patient care.

Direction and supervision of clinical and administrative staff concerning patient care following the Physical Therapy Board of California.

Communicate with physicians and other practitioners regarding patient issues.

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Site Manager and Director of Physical Therapy

CLINIC DUTIES:

Perform Physical Therapy Evaluations and treatments.

Proficiency with use of current EMR

Perform objective measurements, including but not limited to psychometric, isometric, and functional.

Perform and/or participate in functional capacity examinations and work conditioning.

Perform Patient Care Conference (PCC) and maintain patient chart management.

Direct supervision of patients in conditioning program via physical therapy aide and physical therapist assistant.

Direct supervision of all clinical staff as per the Physical Therapy Board of California.

Supervise patient scheduling.

Development and maintenance of patient education program.

Oversee and interact with physicians and nurse practitioners. Provide motivation, education, guidance, and support to patients.

Resolve and maintain quality of care issues.

Treatment time and billing.

Patient scheduling and patient flow issues.

Public relations.

Patient and referral source dilemmas as they arise

Assist in clinical training as necessary including Aide competency list

Schedule meetings as necessary with the Site Manager and administration to discuss progress and future goals.

Maintain current knowledge of professional related literature and comply with California Physical Therapy Board continuing education requirements.

Attend seminars/training/meetings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

BS, preferred Masters in Physical Therapy or Doctorate in

Physical Therapy.

Experience

Orthopedic Rehabilitation.

Experience in active care, clinical exercise experience preferred.

Licenses

Active and current Physical Therapy license.
