Job summary

Orthopaedic Associates of Muskegon (OAM) is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our outpatient rehab division in Shelby, MI. You’ll focus on orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, injury prevention, and performance optimization, helping patients return to work, sport, and daily life.

You’ll work with a diverse patient population, from post-operative cases to recreational athletes, in a modern clinic that emphasizes evidence-based care, hands-on mentorship for new grads, and clinical growth

Qualifications

  • Licensed PT in Michigan or eligible to licensure.
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Strong outpatient orthopedics and sports rehab knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of ages and activity levels.
  • Commitment to evidence-based care and professional development.
  • CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based treatment using manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.
  • Treat patients across functional levels—from sedentary individuals to athletes.
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, recovery, and home programs.
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, athletic trainers, and care team members to optimize outcomes.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and support clinic operations.

RESPONSIBILITEIS:

  • Treat patients across all functional levels—from sedentary individuals to recreational and competitive athletes.

  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, athletic trainers, and care team members to optimize outcomes.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and support clinic operations, including patient flow and quality improvement.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or eligible for licensure in Michigan
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Strong understanding of outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills
  • Ability to treat a wide range of ages and activity levels
  • Commitment to evidence-based care and continued professional development
  • CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
