Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. You will manage the complete process of therapeutic care for an assigned group of patients in coordination with physicians and the care team.

You will perform evaluations and deliver evidence-based treatments, develop individualized plans, and educate patients and families to support goal achievement and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.
• Bachelor's Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluations and treatment within scope of practice.
• Assess and evaluate therapeutic/functional status and develop care plans.
• Deliver or supervise therapeutic interventions and educate patients/family.
• Instruct on therapies, exercises, devices to be used after therapy sessions.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Physical Therapist (PT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients in coordination with the physician and the patient care team. The Physical Therapist completes patient assessments and participates in developing and implementing individualized care plans focusing on goal achievement, patient engagement, and positive patient experience. The Physical Therapist provides or directs a majority of the patient’s physical therapy to support patients throughout the continuum of care.

What you will do in this role:

• You will provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics.
• You will assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status and participate in the development of the total plan of care.
• You will provide purposeful and skilled therapeutic care using procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the physician’s plan of care.
• You will instruct patient/family/caregiver in the use of therapies, exercises, therapeutic appliances, and/or prosthetic devices to be used outside of therapy sessions.
• You will prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs and coordinate assignments/handoffs.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (LPT) Licensed Physical Therapist
