Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) for a school-based role in Wyandotte, MI. This part-time position focuses on one Preschool student with potential to expand the caseload as needs grow.

Onsite, school-day schedule with 1–2 hours per week. The PT will assess gross motor skills, develop and monitor treatment plans, collaborate with school staff to support IEP goals, and ensure compliance with district and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Michigan.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders related to PT scope.
• Assess gross motor skills and equipment needs for students.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and modify treatment plans.
• Collaborate with school team for IEPs/504 Plans.
• Deliver direct therapy services and provide consultative support.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goals.
• Coordinate with teachers and staff to support progress.
• Document caseload in district IEP system.
• Report on student outcomes and ensure compliance with protocols.

Physical Therapist (PT, School-based)

Compensation Range: $63-68/hour

Location: Wyandotte, MI; Onsite - School Setting

Position Summary

The School Physical Therapist will be assessing students' physical development level; providing appropriate treatment to meet individualized student objectives; providing recommendations for program development and student placement; and providing direction to Physical Therapy Assistants. We're searching for a part‑time PT who is eager to work with one Preschool student for now and possibly take on additional students as caseload needs grow. Schedule / Shift:

• Shift details: School Day Schedule
• Hours per week: 1-2hours per week
• Contract length: School Year

Key Duties

• Interpret physician orders related to professional area of responsibility
• Assess gross motor skills and therapeutic equipment needs of students
• Develop, implement, monitor, and modify treatment plans based on physician orders and assessment of the student as appropriate
• Collaborates with the school team to develop Individualized Education Programs and Section 504 Plans to address the students' unique needs
• Deliver direct therapy services and consultative support across assigned schools and settings
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing expertise to help shape student plans and goals
• Manage and document caseload efficiently using the district's IEP system
• Coordinate with teachers, staff, and caregivers to facilitate student success and progress
• Provide thorough communication and reporting on student outcomes as needed
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district protocols, including fingerprinting and background requirements

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist - State of Michigan
• Michigan Driver’s License
• Pediatric experience preferred
