Job description

Inova Fair Oaks hospital is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our close-knit team. This PRN position requires two weekend shifts per month, including one major and one minor holiday. Additional shifts are available if desired. Candidates must be able to train during weekdays (Monday through Friday). Previous experience in outpatient neuro settings is preferred.

Our Rehabilitation Services include: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cancer rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, SAEBO therapy, Bioness therapy (H200 and L300), video swallow studies, vestibular and balance rehab, concussion rehab, pre/post mastectomy rehab, LSVT BIG and LOUD, and vision rehab.

Physical Therapist Job Responsibilities:

1. Document evaluation results clearly and completely, including all essential elements per department policy.
2. Complete daily progress notes reflecting patients' responses to treatment, performance, and assessments related to treatment plans, discharge needs, and summaries.
3. Prepare discharge notes summarizing treatment course, progress toward goals, discharge needs, follow-up recommendations, and patient/family education.
4. Ensure documentation is clear, concise, legible, and timely to facilitate ongoing treatment, interpretation by payers, and reimbursement.
5. Record evidence of patient and family/caregiver education.
6. Coordinate with families, physicians, and healthcare team members proactively to address patients' or families' special needs for effective treatment planning.

Additional Requirements:

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA required upon start.
• Licensure: Licensed Physical Therapist required upon start.
• Experience: Not required but preferred for PRN.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required; Master's preferred.
