Pointe Coupee Hospital in New Roads, LA is actively seeking a Physical Therapist for an inpatient PRN role. You will evaluate patients, develop and supervise therapy plans, and coordinate with a team to improve mobility and function.

This role emphasizes compassionate care and clinical excellence within a supportive hospital environment. The position requires a PT license in the state, BLS within 30 days, and the ability to work under pressure while delivering patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Physical Therapist License in State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsabilités

• Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Supervises physical therapy assistants and aides during treatment.
• Establishes a plan of care appropriate to identified problems and involves the patient.
• Plans and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain or restore function.
• Performs therapy interventions using standard PT techniques and equipment.
• Directs and supervises staff; assesses competence and delegates tasks.
• Administers treatment with physical agents and modalities.
• Evaluates and adjusts prosthetic/orthotic devices as needed.
• Documents goals, progress, and reevaluation plans.

How you'll contribute

• Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Provides educational information to patients in regard to injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy and rehabilitation therapy.

• Supervises physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment.
  Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.

• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.

• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.

• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.

• Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.

• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.

• Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.
