Job summary

Job Duties

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates functional needs and outcomes, and establishes plan of care; also evaluates the efficacy of treatment, modifying if necessary.
• Conducts all therapy practice within defined standards of care.
• Documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans in accordance with Hospital requirements and established guidelines. Regularly updates documentation and maintains prescriptions and signature. Doing so in a timely manner.
• Coordinates, delegates, and supervises responsibilities assigned to support staff.
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary team on patient needs, treatment modifications, and progress including preparing plan for discharge.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.
• Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
• May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.

Requirements

• While a minimum of 2 (two) years’ experience in inpatient hospital setting, inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred; we are open to recent graduates.
• Current state license as a Physical Therapist in good standing is required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.

Physical Requirements

• A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time.
• Both gross and precise motor functions.
• Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs.
• Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
• Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.
• Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
