Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Outpatient Rehab team. This PRN role offers weekday daytime hours and requires collaboration with families and the healthcare team to align treatment plans with patient goals.

You will complete progress notes, educate patients and families, supervise assistive personnel, and adapt therapies as patients’ status changes to optimize outcomes. VA licensure or compact privileges are required.

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Physical Therapy and VA licensure or compact privileges.
• Certification: BLS from American Heart Association on start.
• Preferred: PT experience in neuro.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily progress notes reflecting patient response and treatment plans.
• Communicates with families, physicians and care team to coordinate care.
• Provides instruction and supervision to staff and assistants.
• Applies therapeutic techniques and updates plans as patient status changes.
• Manages PT care from initial contact to discharge for functional outcomes.
• Develops goals and plans based on evaluations and team input.
• Creates comprehensive treatment plans to improve functional status.

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Outpatient Rehab team. This role will be PRN, Monday-Friday, Days Vary

Physical Therapist(PT) Job Responsibilities:

• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance, and an assessment as to status relevant to the treatment plan in addition to eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
• Contacts families, physicians or other healthcare team members in anticipation of special needs of the patients or families in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment plans. Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to the patient's level of understanding and motivation and includes families/caregivers in education and training. Demonstrates collaboration in communication with team members and is open to feedback and receptive to change.
• Gives appropriate instruction and supervision to assistive personnel consistent with program/clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
• Applies knowledge of therapeutic techniques during evaluations and throughout treatment while adjusting treatment plans regularly and appropriately as patients' status change. Demonstrates current knowledge of the application of therapeutic techniques and evaluation methods.
• Assumes complete responsibility over the course of Physical Therapy patient management from the time of initial contact to discharge for functional progress, safety and treatment outcomes.
• Develops goals and treatment plans that are prioritized based on input from patients, families, and healthcare team members and reflect the evaluation findings.
• Formulates comprehensive treatment plans to improve the functional status of patients and address reasons for referrals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• Licensure:Physical Therapist upon start (VA licensure or compact privileges)
• Certification:BLS through the American Heart Association upon start

Preferred Qualification:

• Physical Therapist (PT) experience in neuro
