MedStar Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team at Therapy - Olney. The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy, demonstrating varied evaluation and treatment approaches, excellent customer service skills for interacting with patients of diverse ages and backgrounds, and effective communication skills.
The Physical Therapist provides services including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation across various settings. The role involves participating in program planning, protocol development, and assisting the team in achieving goals.
Provide evaluation services, review pertinent historical information, perform assessments, and document results. Explain findings and treatment plans to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
Implement treatment protocols proficiently based on evaluation findings, patient presentation, and healthcare environment. Consult with other healthcare professionals as needed, and recognize changes requiring plan modifications or medical consultation.
Complete discharge planning and follow-up care. Document and charge for activities accurately and timely, including initial evaluations, progress notes, interim summaries, and discharge evaluations.
Demonstrate effective time management, meet productivity expectations, and manage an accurate schedule. Show professionalism and flexibility to ensure frictionless patient access to care, displaying empathy and adaptability.
Take initiative in continuing education for professional growth. Serve as a clinical instructor, and assist with orientation and mentoring of staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required for the specific location.
American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support) certification for Healthcare Providers, CPR certification.
This position has a hiring range of $72,758 - $130,041.
