Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Physical Therapy, this experienced Physical Therapist will have a passion for excellence in patient care, leading and mentoring PTAs, and improving the quality of life for those in the communities we serve. The Physical Therapist will be established in the community with referral contacts and a reputation for excellence in care.

Reporting to the Director of Physical Therapy, this experienced Physical Therapist will have a passion for excellence in patient care, leading and mentoring PTAs, and improving the quality of life for those in the communities we serve. The Physical Therapist will be established in the community with referral contacts and a reputation for excellence in care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to the following)

This physical therapist develops comprehensive programs to ensure the highest quality of patient care, providing direct care through evaluation, assessment, care planning, and treatment across a wide range of clinical diagnoses. They actively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams as needed to coordinate patient plans and document progress in compliance with clinic, CMS, and other regulatory requirements. They also consult with patients, families, and medical providers to educate and align on treatment plans, maintaining open communication with referrers when necessary.

Staying current with new techniques and maintaining appropriate certifications are key responsibilities, as is adherence to the APTA standards, California State PT practice act, and clinic policies. This includes meeting all documentation requirements for billing, regulatory compliance, and certification standards. The therapist is committed to continuous quality improvement, actively supporting the clinic's Quality Assurance Plan to enhance patient care and service delivery.

The role involves maintaining professional licensure and working collaboratively with other healthcare providers, both within the clinic and in the broader community. They are deeply familiar with the health center’s aims and objectives, demonstrating genuine enthusiasm for its success and contributing to its mission through their dedication to high-quality patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education And Experience

Successful completion of a Graduate degree or higher from an accredited physical therapy program with five (5) or more years of rehabilitation experience. Current CA state licensure in physical therapy.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional training with a doctorate degree is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods; climbing stairs, step-stools, etc.; stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, and reaching; pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds; raising objects overhead; manual dexterity for operation of computer and phones; hearing, talking, and good verbal and written communication skills; repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers; subject to outside environmental conditions of heat and cold; and walking on uneven ground. The position requires the ability to safely operate and drive a motor vehicle.

Indian Preferance

Preference in filling vacancies will be given to qualified Native American or Alaskan Native Applicants, in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, U.S. Code Section 472 and 473) and Public Law 93-638, provided the applicant has submitted appropriate verification of Indian preference for employment. In-house postings include Tribal Voting Members.

All positions require sensitivity to Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs, and the ability at times to meet and deal effectively with numerous tribes and varied cultures, which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
