Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) – Medical-Surgical to provide high-quality rehabilitation services in Cheraw, South Carolina. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist who is passionate about helping patients restore mobility, improve functional independence, and recover from illness, injury, or surgical procedures.

The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall physical function.

Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, this individual will play an important role in supporting patient recovery, safe mobility, and effective discharge planning.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Current, active, and unrestricted Physical Therapist (PT) license in South Carolina
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy evaluation, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions
• Ability to assess patient mobility, strength, balance, and functional limitations
• Ability to develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans
• Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based rehabilitation care

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience providing Physical Therapy services in a rehabilitation setting
• Experience working in an acute-care hospital or Medical-Surgical unit
• Experience treating patients recovering from surgery, acute illness, injury, or prolonged hospitalization
• Familiarity with therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfer techniques, and functional mobility interventions
• Experience supporting discharge planning and recommending appropriate rehabilitation services
• Knowledge of fall prevention, patient safety, and mobility assistance techniques
• Experience working with medically complex patients or individuals with multiple health conditions
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and physical therapy documentation requirements
• Strong ability to manage multiple patient care priorities while maintaining high clinical standards

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a licensed Physical Therapist who has graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy program, maintains an unrestricted South Carolina PT license, and possesses current CPR certification.

Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical assessment abilities, sound therapeutic judgment, and the ability to develop individualized treatment plans that address patients' functional limitations and rehabilitation needs.

Professionals with previous experience in rehabilitation, acute-care physical therapy, or Medical-Surgical patient care will be particularly well aligned with this opportunity.

While previous rehabilitation experience is preferred, it is not a mandatory qualification. Candidates who meet the required educational, licensing, and certification standards are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

$76,000 – $114,000 annually

Compensation within the listed range will be determined based on the candidate's additional physical therapy expertise, professional clinical experience, rehabilitation or acute-care background, specialized qualifications, advanced clinical competencies, and overall alignment with the position.
