MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital!
As a Physical Therapist, you will participate in the evaluation and treatment of patients based on current principles and practices of PT (Physical Therapy). The Physical Therapist will also assist with self-development, staff education, mentoring, orientation, and competency assessment. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and MedStar Georgetown's policies, procedures, and standards.

Provides direct PT evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current levels of functioning, setting appropriate goals, and making discharge recommendations in accordance with standards of practice. Provides direct PT treatments, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plans, and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
Utilizes appropriate documentation forms and adheres to PM&R's documentation standards. Collaborates with physicians, patients, family, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient treatment and progress. Actively participates in meetings, in-services, and rounds related to patient care and departmental items.
Supervises PTAs (Physical Therapist Assistants) and rehabilitation technicians. Instructs PT interns and students, serving as a mentor for less experienced staff. Coordinates and prioritizes own schedule based on patient treatment demands and departmental responsibilities.
Participates in program development as assigned by the PT Clinical Leader. Engages in at least 20 contact hours of continuing education annually and provides two-yearly in-services for staff and community education.
Adheres to all Department of Health and Joint Commission regulations regarding the physical environment and patient care. Participates in at least one non-clinical activity, such as committees or task forces.
Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
Minimum 2 years of current clinical practice, with relevant educational background.
Current Physical Therapist license in D.C. or qualified for licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
This position has a hiring range of $72,758 - $130,041.
