Responsibilities
- Interpret physician referrals and complete evaluations (musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, integumentary) using appropriate methods.
- Establish and implement a personalized plan of care based on evaluation results and functional goals, utilizing suitable techniques.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and communicate progress to physicians and team members.
- Address factors affecting patient's physical and psychosocial comfort.
- Plan for and execute patient discharge procedures, including home programs, education, referrals, and equipment orders.
- Complete all documentation in accordance with policies, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment, using proper techniques for manual therapies and equipment.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and manage caseloads effectively.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and assist in training new staff or supervising assistants and students as applicable.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Education: Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; ongoing continuing education.
- Certification/License: Valid Physical Therapy License in Illinois or Wisconsin; BLS certification from AHA.
- Work Experience: No prior experience required.
Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and perform manual techniques safely.
- Must be able to push/pull, transfer patients, and use senses effectively for communication.
