Salary Range:

Job Overview:
As part of the core team, the Early Intervention Physical Therapist (PT) screens, evaluates, and provides ongoing assessment. They assist in developing an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for each child and deliver direct services to children with delays in physical, cognitive, communication, social, and adaptive development. The PT also instructs parents and caregivers on strategies to incorporate into family routines and collaborates on transition/discharge planning.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- NJ Licensed Physical Therapist
- Valid NJ driver’s license and insurance
- At least 2 years experience working with young children with disabilities
- For Targeted Evaluation (TET) team members: 2 years pediatric experience evaluating children ages 0-5
- Strong understanding of normal child development
- Knowledge of early intervention benefits for children with developmental delays
- Understanding of behavior management principles
- Ability to interpret and incorporate early childhood educational and intervention techniques into family routines
Certifications and Licenses:
- NJ Licensed Physical Therapist
- NJ Driver’s License
Scheduling Requirements:
Essential Functions:
- Complete developmental evaluations in natural environments to identify strengths and needs
- Communicate effectively with families and team members in both oral and written formats
- Support families in interacting with their children during daily routines
- Provide strategies with measurable and functional outcomes as part of the IFSP
- Collaborate on ongoing services based on family concerns and routines
- Use NJ Birth to Three Early Learning Standards as a framework for expectations
- Utilize discipline-specific assessment tools and describe strategies appropriately
- Address IFSP outcomes with suitable activities and intervention models
- Evaluate and adapt methods to meet family and child needs
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to NJEIS Code of Conduct
- Record session notes and data accurately for billing and documentation
- Seek supervision and contribute to performance reviews and improvement plans
- Assist in training others in EI philosophy and intervention models
- Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and conference calls
- Travel using personal vehicle to family environments
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation for billing and departmental requirements
- Maintain ongoing communication with the office via email, text, and phone
