**Physical Therapist – Acute Care**

**Work location:** Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093

**Work hours:** PRN/As needed: Variable weekdays and weekends. Will work two weekend days a month and one holiday a year.

**Here’s What You Need:**

• Bachelor's Degree, Completion of a Physical Therapy program, upon hire required
• PT - Physical Therapist, Texas Physical Therapy License, upon hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• Acute care experience preferred

**What You Will Do:**

• Perform age-appropriate patient treatment
• Use therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
• Perform treatment procedures within the scope of the professional license
• Delegate technical procedures appropriately and safely
• Utilize a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary
• Determine patient response to treatment and evaluate progress (reassessment)
• Educate patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management, and assistive equipment
• Maintain patient safety throughout treatment
• Communicate with physicians and other healthcare personnel regarding patient care issues
• Demonstrate competence in age-appropriate patient treatment and individualize care based on age-specific needs
• Motivate non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
