Job summary

Sterling Therapy Providers is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to organize and conduct rehabilitation programs within our facility. You will direct patient participation, promote independence, and contribute to a compassionate care environment. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, teamwork, and patient safety.

The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $45 to $50 per hour with options for full-time, part-time, or per diem schedules. Overtime may be available depending on needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program and licensed or eligible for licensure.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates residents, develops treatment goals, implements plan, and documents services.
• Designs and fits adaptive devices and trains residents in their use.
• Selects physical modalities suited to patient needs and diagnosis.
• Consults with rehab team to choose appropriate therapy regimen.
• Instructs residents in mobility skills and evaluates progress.
• Adapts program to individual resident needs.
• Promotes safety and eliminates hazards in the environment.
• Attends resident care and related staff conferences.
• Supervises supportive personnel per state standards.
• Conducts training for medical, nursing, and other staff in PT techniques.
• Orders supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Cleans, maintains, and reports equipment repairs.
• Ensures high-quality service with compassionate care.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist organizes and conducts physical therapy programs for the facility to facilitate rehabilitation. He/she directs client participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. In addition, the Physical Therapist facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity, in order to diminish or correct pathology. He/she directs activities to promote and maintain health.

RESPONSIBLITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1 Evaluates residents, develops appropriate treatment goals, and methods, implements the physical therapy treatment plan, and completes all related documentation and record keeping regarding these services; services include application of therapeutic techniques in areas such as gait, ambulation, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, posture control, sensory awareness, sitting and standing skills, balance and orientation;
• 2 Designs and fits adaptive devices, and trains residents in the use of adaptive devices including orthotics and prosthetics;
• 3 Selects physical agent modalities suited to the individual’s needs, physical capacity, mobility activities and diagnosis;
• 4 Consults with other members of the rehabilitation team to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
• 5 Instructs resident in the skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities, and evaluates client progress, attitudes, and behavior as related to rehabilitative potential;
• 6 Adapts program according to the needs of individual resident;
• 7 Promotes a safe environment and enforces the elimination of fire and safety hazards;
• 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing conferences and other related meetings;
• 9 Supervises supportive personnel in accordance with state and professional standards;
• 10 Conducts training programs and participates in training medical, nursing and other personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives;
• 11 Orders supplies and equipment as necessary;
• 12 Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment as necessary;
• 13 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American Physical Therapy Association and certified by the American Physical Therapy Association under its requirements.
