Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute in the Tampa Bay area is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for outpatient orthopaedic therapy, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and sports medicine care. You will evaluate, treat, and guide patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions to restore function and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred).
• Active Florida PT license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations and treatment planning.
• Develop and modify individualized plans of care.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, rehab process, and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with physicians, PTAs, athletic trainers, and the broader care team.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
• Monitor and ensure patient safety during all treatments.
• Supervise and delegate responsibilities to PTAs and therapy support staff.
• Act as a clinical instructor for PT students as requested.
• Participate in community education, research, and continuous learning opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and FOI guidelines and FOI policies.

What You’ll Do

As a Physical Therapist, you’ll play a critical role in outpatient orthopaedic therapy, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and sports medicine care. You’ll evaluate, treat, and guide patients through recovery from injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions helping them restore function and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Conducting thorough patient evaluations, assessments, and treatment planning
• Developing, implementing, and modifying individualized plans of care
• Providing therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and other evidence-based treatments
• Educating patients and families on diagnosis, rehab process, and home exercise programs
• Collaborating with physicians, PTAs, athletic trainers, and the broader care team
• Documenting all evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
• Monitoring and ensuring patient safety during all treatments
• Supervising and delegating responsibilities to PTAs and therapy support staff
• Acting as a clinical instructor for PT students as requested
• Participating in community education, research, and continuous learning opportunities
• Maintaining compliance with state, federal, and APTA guidelines and FOI policies
