Pay Range: $41-$52 Per Hour (Based on Experience)

Physical Therapist Job Summary:

1. The assessment, treatment, and education of or consultation with the individual, family, or other persons.
2. Provide physical therapy services as ordered by the referring physician and delegate appropriate portions of the treatment program to physical therapist assistants and support staff.
3. Recommend and provide treatment based on observational, verbal, or manual assessments of musculoskeletal or neuromuscular function, including range of motion, motor power, postural attitudes, biomechanical function, locomotion, or functional abilities.

The physical therapist (licensed to practice physical therapy) uses purposeful activities or interventions to maximize independence and health of individuals limited by injury, illness, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, developmental or learning disabilities, or adverse environmental conditions. Services include, but are not limited to, skilled observation, testing, and measurements to identify areas for therapy.

Physical Therapist Qualifications:

• Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a physical therapist.
• Prior experience in Skilled Nursing preferred.
• Membership in state and national American Physical Therapy Association preferred.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Proficient administrative and public relations skills.
• Thorough knowledge of principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in physical therapy.
• Knowledge of hazards and necessary precautions during treatment.
• Emotional stability to cope with patient and employee demands.
• Maintain patient and employee confidentiality.
• Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement preferred.
• Successful completion of an approved educational program in physical therapy.
