A leading healthcare recruiter is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, develop treatment plans, and supervise physical therapy assistants. This role requires strong communication skills, a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, and the ability to work in a collaborative healthcare environment.
The Staff Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients/residents, communicates with families, physicians, and other health team members, and maintains documentation of services in the medical records. Provides Physical Therapy services including treatment planning & implementation, and discharge planning. Tests patients' physical abilities and analyzes rehabilitation goals; consults with the rehab team to coordinate the most effective physical therapy program.
Organizational Relationships: Supervises: Responsible for the care delivered by PTAs and Rehab Technicians.
- Evaluate patients/residents within 24 hours of physician referral.
- Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval from the referring physician, then treat patients/residents according to the physician's treatment plan.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors, rehabilitation team members, and nursing staff regarding the patient’s treatment plan, progress, and prognosis.
- Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, 14-day progress reports to the physician, and discharge summaries in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Instruct patients/residents’ families or nursing staff in maintenance programs.
- Secure necessary durable medical equipment such as orthoses, walkers, canes, elevated toilet seats, and grab bars to facilitate independence in mobility.
- Submit logs and all billing information promptly.
- Report any equipment or problem areas within each facility to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
- Comply with guidelines from the State Licensing Board of California, Title 22, CMS, and the California Labor Board. May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Licensure/Certification: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Physical Therapy.
