Position Summary

Provides professional, educational, and clinical skills in organizing and directing physical therapy services and administering treatment programs.

Position Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinates all physical therapy and related orthopedic care to ensure appropriate patient treatment.
  • Conducts patient consultation, evaluation, and program planning for all patients.
  • Develops home exercise programs to instruct patients in the required exercises for treatment.
  • Reassesses patient status on an ongoing basis to ensure that treatment goals, plans, and programs are appropriate.
  • Communicates effectively with patient/family to ensure knowledge of treatment plan and home exercises.
  • Develops educational programs to increase patient/family and community awareness of physical therapy treatment.
  • Assists in continuing education and orientation for new employees to increase awareness of physical therapy treatments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills
  • Certified by American Physical Therapy Association
  • Physical Therapist licensure with ECPTOTE (Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners) required
Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy with four years of experience; OR Master’s degree in Physical Therapy with two years of experience; OR Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy with no experience.

Minimum Experience

Years of experience varies based on education level.

Physical Requirements

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or over 50 pounds frequently and/or over 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
