Responsibilities

• Evaluates, administers and directs administration of therapeutic procedures used in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring practitioner.
• Establishes goals of physical therapy and reassesses patient progress at regular intervals.
• Communicates with patients, families, peers and other professionals to provide continuity of care.
• Treats patients using exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease pain and aid recovery.
• Supervises physical therapy assistants, aides and athletic trainers as needed.

Job Description Evaluates, administers and directs administration of therapeutic procedures utilized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as prescribed by a referring practitioner. Establishes goals of physical therapy and re-asses patient's progress at regular, timely intervals, supporting findings with appropriate documentation. This job classification is required to care for patients of all ages. Communicates with patients, families, peers, and other professionals as needed to provide continuity of care. Evaluates and treats patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments. Establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them recover. Works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and insurance adjusters. Documents and reports on patients' progress. May supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers.

Position Type: This position is a combination of both inpatient and outpatient care.

Education: Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school

Experience: New graduates acceptable.

Licenses/Certificates:

• South Carolina Board Certified / Eligible
• Current Driver's License
• BLS required.
