Job summary

Sanford Health is hiring a Physical Therapist to provide examinations, evaluations, and therapy interventions. You will document patient information, develop therapeutic plans, and educate patients and families on treatment and home exercises. Collaboration with care teams is essential to improve mobility and reduce pain.

Required licensure as a Physical Therapist and BLS within 60 days. This role supports post-acute and home health settings with day shifts in the United States.

Department

Plans, organizes, and delivers physical therapy programs that help clients, patients, and residents recover and improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and prevent deformities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients, patients, and residents affected by injury or disease.
  • Utilizes tools and techniques to administer physical therapy interventions following safeguards.
  • Documents client, patient, and resident information for evaluation and establishes therapeutic plans, adjusting them as necessary.
  • Educates clients, patients, and residents and their families about treatment plans, schedules, and self‑exercises to be continued at home.
  • Applies age‑related treatments and evaluations relevant to the needs of clients, patients, and residents.
  • Incorporates current research into daily treatment of clients, patients, and residents.
  • Demonstrates and applies level‑appropriate treatment aligned with professional specialty guidelines.
  • Follows accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations and meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Exhibits flexibility in accepting variable work schedules and assignments.
  • Participates in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society, and Sanford Health.
  • Collaborates with providers, case managers, third‑party payers, public organizations, companies, and contractual partners.
  • May supervise assistants, aides, and students who provide client, patient, or resident care, treatment, or services.
  • Provides ongoing education and training to peers in areas of expertise as determined by departmental leadership.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by the manager.
Work Settings

May focus on post‑acute, long‑term care, and home health care environments based on facility needs and assigned locations.

Qualifications
  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
  • Licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Obtains and maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required within the first 60 days of employment.
