The CORE Institute in Flagstaff, Arizona, is hiring a Physical Therapist to assess patient conditions and establish treatment goals. Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring appropriate treatments, and documenting all findings.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Assesses patient condition,establishesgoals, treatments, and care plans in conjunction with the physician, patient/family.
  • Ensures thatappropriate treatmentis performed in an interdisciplinary fashion, consulting with physicians about the impact of physical therapy factors on the patient’s health status.
  • Documentsfindings, treatments, and other patient information for the medical record.
  • Educates patient/family onappropriate careand use of various therapies/exercises.
  • Serves asinformation/education resource for patients, families, and staff.
  • Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Technicians.
  • Serves as a resource to Physical Therapy staff.
  • Provides ongoing education to the Physical Therapy staff.
  • Assiststhe director with patient care issues.
  • The job holder mustdemonstratecurrent competencies for the job position.
Education
  • Requires aValid and active State Licensure
  • Clinical Doctorate (DPT) preferred.
Experience
  • Two years of experience in an out-patient physical therapy clinic. Experience with orthopedics is preferred.

Requirements
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, standards, and applications.
  • Knowledge of clinic policies, procedures, regulations, safety/infection control, qualitycontrol.
  • Knowledge of how to use physical therapy equipment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
Skills
  • Skill inappropriate evaluationand treatment of patients.
  • Skill in effectively communicating with in-house as well as external physicians and referral sources.
  • Skill in using a computer system/EMR to accurately reproduce allappropriate documentation.
  • Skill inaccuraterecognition of patient/clinic danger andappropriate fallrisk patients.
Abilities
  • Ability toestablish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor physical therapy staff.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to be a resource to patients and staff.
Environmental Working Conditions
  • Normal office environment.
  • Some travel within the community.
Physical/Mental Demands
  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
  • Some bending and stretching arerequired.
  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
  • Requires occasionalsupportall size patients in transfers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. Demands of kneeling, squatting, overhead lifting.
