Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital in North Carolina seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to join our inpatient care team. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, administer therapies, educate patients, and coordinate discharge planning with physicians.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program, a current North Carolina Physical Therapist License, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current North Carolina Physical Therapist License; BLS required.
  • Hospital, orthopedic or rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning, documentation and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations including strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration and motor function.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Administer therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and modalities.
  • Modify treatment plans based on patient progress.
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs and assistive devices.
  • Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in quality improvement and safety activities.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Inpatient Services, the Physical Therapist will provide physical therapy evaluation, treatment, education and discharge planning in accordance with physician orders and professional standards.

Essential Job Functions

Experience, Training & Education
