Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum. You will complete assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with physicians and the care team to promote optimal recovery.

Responsibilities include delivering therapeutic interventions, educating patients and families, prioritizing caseloads, and coordinating care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
• Licensed Physical Therapist required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluations and treatments within the scope of practice and ethics.
• Assess and develop individual care plans in coordination with physicians.
• Deliver home-based therapy when appropriate to support recovery as per the physician’s plan.
• Instruct patients, families and caregivers in exercises and use of therapeutic devices.
• Prioritize caseload and coordinate with the care team for seamless handoffs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Physical Therapist (PT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients in coordination with the physician and the patient care team. The Physical Therapist completes patient assessments and participatesin developing and implementing individualized care plans focusing on goal achievement, patient engagement, and positive patient experience. The Physical Therapist provides or directs a majority of the patient’s physical therapy to support patients throughout the continuum of care.

What you will do in this role:

• Provideevaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practiceestablishedby law and professional code of ethics.

• Assessand evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status andparticipatei n the development of the total plan of care.

• Providepurposeful and skilled therapeutic care atpatient’shome, using procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the physician’s plan of care.

• Instructpatient/family/caregiver in the use of therapies, exercises, therapeutic appliances, and/or prosthetic devices to be used outside of therapy sessions.

• Prioritizecaseload,determinedaily staffing needs,and coordinate assignments/handoffs.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support(BLS)must be obtained within30 daysof employment start date

• Licensed Physical Therapistrequired

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care,orthopedic andspine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includesa state-of-the-artneurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services.Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health treatment centers for children and adults.
