Location:

Plainsboro, NJ (Princeton Fitness & Wellness- 1225 State Road)

Hours:

Per Diem - Mostly Day/Evening Shift hours. Possible shifts include 7am to 3:30 pm, 8 am to 4:30 pm, or 11:30 am to 8 pm. Coverage is needed for staff therapist vacations and time off. Schedule is not fixed weekly. NO WEEKENDS/ FRIDAYS CLOSED BY 4:30PM.

Summary:
  • The Physical Therapists assist persons with disabilities to attain and restore maximum function through patient-centered care. Responsibilities include administering manual exercises, instructing and assisting patients with physical activities, and using assistive devices. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential to meet individualized care plans developed by rehabilitation physicians, with revisions based on patient response. The role emphasizes dignity, respect, and sensitivity.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional physical therapy services.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards, protecting patient autonomy and rights.
  • Evaluate own practice against professional standards and regulations.
  • Provide health education tailored to patients' developmental, cultural, and language needs.
  • Design and implement home exercise programs and recommend follow-up care.
  • Engage in quality improvement activities and ongoing education to maintain competence.
  • Collect and document comprehensive patient data, perform assessments, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Use evidence-based interventions and collaborate with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate progress and revise care plans as necessary.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, and research activities.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through collegiality and delegation where appropriate.
  • Support department goals related to quality and patient safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Credentials:
  • Physical Therapist (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • Master of Arts or Science (Required)
  • Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy (Required)
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Physical Therapist (Preferred)
