Job Summary:

Evaluates and treats patients using physical measures, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation procedures (with or without assistive devices) to prevent, correct, or alleviate disabilities. Patients may range from neonates to geriatrics. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or post-graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from an APTA-accredited school
  • Current Physical Therapist licensure in Ohio
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to travel to satellite locations
Preferred:
  • Membership in the APTA
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk unassisted and maintain balance during ambulation or gait training
  • Ability to lift and reach to assist with patient exercises
  • Sensation of touch and manual dexterity for palpation and monitoring
  • Visual acuity to observe movement and gait
  • Clear speech to instruct patients and families
  • Hearing ability to understand patient symptoms and responses
Physical Tasks:
  • Frequently (25-75%): standing, sitting, walking, reaching, crouching, balancing, lifting 5-25 pounds, carrying 5-10 pounds, pushing up to 75 pounds
  • Occasionally (5-25%): stooping, climbing, lifting/moving 24-50 pounds, carrying 10-25 pounds, operating power tools and machinery
