Physical Therapist/Physical Therapy Assistant - Safety Sensitive

Job Summary: Functions as a member of the Rehabilitation team and provides quality care for patients referred for services by a licensed physician.

Job Duties: Initiates patient care through evidence-based assessment and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Submits a detailed plan of care for approval within 24 hours of evaluation. Maintains treatment records and monitors patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Supervises Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA) and provides education to enhance their skills. Ensures safety by monitoring equipment hazards. Promotes positive interpersonal relationships and contributes to the department’s efficiency. Maintains professional knowledge and skills. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BS, MS, or DPT degree in Physical Therapy from an approved school. Active license in Arkansas.
  • Experience: Completion of an accredited program with clinical experience. Up-to-date CPR certification.
  • Knowledge: Competence in leadership, rehab principles, and patient care tailored to age-specific needs.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to report to work fit for duty without impairment from drugs or alcohol.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Physical Demands: Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, reaching, and maneuvering throughout the hospital environment. Visual and auditory skills are necessary for environmental interpretation. Computer entry and documentation are required.
