Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• BLS certification or completion within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients/families.
• Set goals and develop treatment plans.
• Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participate in discharge planning, including education and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise PT Assistants and PT/PTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy sessions.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and modify as needed.
• Complete documentation per department policies and procedures.
• Participate in department, hospital, and community continuing education seminars.

Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando Central is a 31-bed free-standing critical illness recovery hospital. We specialize in helping critically ill patients breathe, speak, eat, walk and think as independently as possible.

Our hospital also offers medical rehabilitation through Select Medical Rehabilitation, a 32-bed acute rehabilitation unit. The unit is designed to meet an individual's rehabilitation needs and goals through a range of programs and services. The unit is located within Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando Central.

• Completing appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
