Job summary

Saint Peter’s Healthcare System is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans for adult patients in an outpatient setting. You will document assessments and progress, teach patients and families, and ensure safety during therapy sessions.

Qualifications include a CAPTE-accredited degree (Bachelor/Master/DPT), NJ license, BLS, and excellent communication with the care team and patients.

Qualifications

• Requires analytic ability, use of independent judgment and sufficient interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with patients, families, students, peers and other health care professionals.
• BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
• New Jersey State license and registration in Physical Therapy or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop proper therapeutic treatment plan of care and anticipated outcome for each patient based on Physician's orders.
• Modify treatment plan based on patient response or ineffectiveness as noted in the medical record.
• Demonstrate effective teaching skills with patients, families, caregivers, and maintains safety and care during treatment sessions.
• Document initial assessments, reassessments and progress notes per department policy.

Job description

• Develop proper therapeutic treatment plan of care and anticipated outcome for each patient in accordance with a written and signed Physician's order or prescription, as appropriate to the ages of the patients growth and development through the life cycle factors
• Modify treatment plan based on patient response and/or ineffectiveness as noted in the medical record.
• Demonstrate effective teaching skills with patients/family members/caregivers and maintains safety and care of the patient during treatment sessions
• Document initial assessments, reassessments and progress notes for each patient in accordance with established department policy and procedures

Adult Outpatient Therapy

• Develop proper therapeutic treatment plan of care and anticipated outcome for each patient in accordance with a written and signed Physician's order or prescription, as appropriate to the ages of the patients growth and development through the life cycle factors
• Modify treatment plan based on patient response and/or ineffectiveness as noted in the medical record.
• Demonstrate effective teaching skills with patients/family members/caregivers and maintains safety and care of the patient during treatment sessions
• Document initial assessments, reassessments and progress notes for each patient in accordance with established department policy and procedures

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors, Masters degree or DPT, graduate of an entry level masters or doctorate program in Physical Therapy from a college or university accredited by Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• Requires a current New Jersey State license and registration in Physical Therapy or eligibility. Previous experience preferred but not necessary.
• New graduates acceptable.
• Requires analytic ability, use of independent judgment and sufficient interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with patients, families, students, peers and other health care professionals.
• BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.

Salary Range: 65.00 - 65.00 USD

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
