Job summary

Bozeman Health is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, create and implement plans of care, and document progress in alignment with rehabilitation policies.

The role requires Montana PT licensure, a current BLS certification, and ongoing education to maintain competencies. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available for experienced candidates plus the opportunity to work within a compassionate team focused on pediatric care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
  • Montana Licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Stroke education of 2 hours within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients and develops/implements plan of care within Physical Therapy scope.
  • Documents evaluations, progress notes, treatment and discharge summaries per Bozeman Health Rehab policies.
  • Educates patients and families to manage pain, safety and function; documents plans.
  • Identify safety issues and ensure patient safety with stakeholders.

$20,000 Sign-on Bonus available for experienced Pediatric Physical Therapists!

Required
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program
  • Montana Licensure (Physical Therapist)
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Participates in two (2) hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one (1) year of hire.
Preferred
  • Two (2) years of physical therapy experience
Essential Job Functions

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timely completion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Evaluates physical and functional status of patients and establishes & implements appropriate plan of care within the scope of Physical Therapy Practice.
  • Documents initial evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, daily treatment, education and discharge summaries within compliance of BH Rehab policies.
  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers in strategies to manage pain, improve safety and function and educate re: individualized plan of care. Documents appropriately.
  • Identifies issues re: patient safety and follows through with processes to accomplish safety for all involved. (family, caregiver, patient)
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Requirements
  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Fine-Finger Movements (Continuously): Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than using the whole hand as in handling.
Vision (Continuously): Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures and to read computer screens, printed materials, and handwritten materials.
Cognitive Skills (Continuously): Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.
Exposures (Continuously): Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses. Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
