Job Summary

Provides educationally based PT evaluations, treatments, and consultations to pediatric clients within the educational environment. Provides services in conjunction with the school district's child study teams and teachers, ensuring that the services delivered are relevant and useful in meeting the student's individual education plans (IEP).

Position Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates comprehensive evaluation skills and interventions, including evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and modifying plans of care as appropriate. Meets IEP mandates per student.
  • Maintains and completes all student documentation, records, and reports ensuring they are educationally based, timely, thorough, and professional, in accordance with regulatory and department guidelines.
  • Consults with student’s child study team, teachers, family, paraprofessionals, district and non-district therapists, CST staff, contract coordinator, supervisors, and offsite director to provide optimal patient care and effective operations.
  • Attends and participates in required meetings including school team meetings, student IEP meetings, CST meetings, and others. Flexibility in scheduling is expected to accommodate student treatment times.
Required Experience & Education
  • Educationally based pediatric experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in physical therapy from an APTA-accredited program.
  • Current licensure in the State of NJ.
  • CPR certification.
  • School certification by the NJ Department of Education.
