Job Description - Physical Therapist Part-Time Weekends (2500002H)

Organizes and conducts Physical Therapy program to facilitate the rehabilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Physical Therapist directs the patient’s participation in selected activities/treatments to restore, re-enforce and correct pathology to promote and/or maintain good health.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs evaluation(s) and develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum.
  • Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
  • Initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
  • Performs other department activities such as documentation, billing, and support of department operations.
Required For All Jobs:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

This candidate will join a dynamic team. This position will fill a weekend position to support weekend (and holiday) rotation. The schedule will be determined during interview process & mutually agreed upon prior to hire. There are three options possible:

  • Option 1: Week 1-SAT SUN, Week 2-SUN MON
  • Option 2: Week 1-FRI SAT, Week 2-SAT SUN
  • Option 3: Week 1 & 2-SAT SUN

Primary location will be Lake West Medical Center; opportunities to float to other EAST Market UH facilities is possible. Therapist with acute care experience preferred.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Required Credentials, License, and/or Certifications:

Licensed by the State of Ohio to practice Physical Therapy.

Experience & Knowledge:

Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Physical Therapy appropriate to the developmental and chronological age of patients on caseload.

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. Must be physically, cognitively and perceptually able to provide patient treatment and assist in physical mobility of patients and equipment.
